Common Questions:
What are my options to style my cat?
This image has the typical styles to choose from.
What if I want a creative haircut on my cat?
Talk with The Graceful Groomer about what creative haircut you want. It may or may not be feasible. The amount of creativity entirely depends on how tolerant your cat is for grooming.
Why does my cat need a bath if they lick themselves?
First, it is a myth that licking equals cleaning. Licking does not clean a cat, it leaves dried saliva flakes. Naturally it aids in removing dead hairs and dirt. However, removing is not the same as cleaning and dried saliva flakes is definitely not a cleaning agent. In fact, it leaves behind proteins along with dander, that cause allergies in humans. Thus, soap and water is what cleans cats. Not just any soap; cat safe products. There are a large array of cat safe shampoos and soap bars out there. Be sure to check with your groomer or a professional if its actually cat safe.
Why does my cat need to wear a green cone? They don’t bite.
The Graceful Groomer uses it to prevent the force of air from the dryer and dampen the loudness of it alongside the use of a happy hoodie. It is used for your cat’s comfort and well being in mind.
Would every cat need a bath?
There are cats with different coat types and different skin conditions. There are cats with oily, flakey skin and easily tangled hair. These types of cats will benefit from getting a bath. Much like a human oily scalp, they feel relief and comfort after their deep cleanse. We recommend a regular bath schedule between 5 to 12 weeks to prevent tangles, deep cleanse to remove oil buildup, dead skin and dander. Did you know that dander build up caused by dried saliva. Not all cats need baths. Some clients enjoy reduced shedding and not hearing their cats hack up a ball of hair. Baths reduces shedding, removing all the dead hair in the last couple of hair growth cycles. Fun fact: a cat’s hair growth cycle is every 21 days.
